Review: Transformers AOE Oversized Lockdown Knock Off

We will look at the Knock Off oversized version of the Age of Extinction Lockdown.  We will look at mostly the differences between this one and the original version. You can look at my review of the regular version for the other stuff.

In robot mode it looks exactly like the original one except a lot bigger. If you look carefully enough you will see there ARE minor molding differences where the original one is a little more detailed. The plastic quality is pretty good, it doesn't feel like it is going to break anytime soon. Only the transparent windows feel like they will snap if you are not careful but that is due to transparent plastic in general and probably why the original version does not have these.

I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks with me, but the KO looks to be better proportioned, or it is just not as obvious. It also comes with the same giant face gun, but bigger. It also fits on his face like the original, but it is no longer a 5mm post.  A bonus of the KO is that it comes with an alternate head with the mask down which is something I wanted in the original one.

The knock off has:
- the same painted parts except the KO uses silver paint, and the original uses gunmetal
- less kibble on the forearms where the screw goes
- better looking knees without holes
- a piece of plastic on the back of the crotch to keep the legs from falling off.

Size comparison
He is 18cm to the top of his head. Here he is next to evasion optimus prime and deluxe bumblebee.  This scale looks better with movie optimus but maybe a smidgen too big. He should have been this size to begin with.

Transformation
The Transformation of this figure is exactly the same as the original version. You can see my original review for the transformation.

Vehicle Mode
In vehicle mode, this looks fantastic. It is large and detailed. The paint and plastic color is great. because of it's size, the plastic streaking is barely noticable. The front of the car is made out of die cast metal which gives it a good weight. Even the oversized gun will fit on the car.

Seeing it next to the original really puts the original one to shame. Everything about the knock off look better than the original.  The knock off has:
- side windows where the original does not.
- a emblem on the front where the original is only gold color
- is missing the decepticon logo to match the movie where the original one has one.
- different wheel molds
- pinned in wheels where the original has clip on wheels
- the seams seem to be better on the KO version.

One thing the original has that the KO doesn't have is the painted rear brake calipers and painted side mirrors

Size comparison:
The Knock off is 17cm long, and 8cm wide. So this would be close to a 1:27 scale model, which would look great with your alternators and human alliance vehicles. Here he is next to Alternators Smokescreen and Human Alliance sideswipe. As a scale car fan this is just absolutely awesome.
Here he is next to evasion optimus prime, and bumblebee.

Final Thoughts.
This is an awesome figure. Get this if you like your figures in better scale.
